The security in casinos is both of physical and closed circuit nature. The physical security comprises of guards who patrol the casino and in case of any emergency correspond immediately to call for help. Any criminal activity or suspicious activity happening in the casino is looked after by the surveillance department through CCTVs or the Closed Circuit Televisions to keep an eye on any of the misconduct of the guests and well as the employees. The specialized work of the surveillance team is very important and is an asset both for the casino and the guests alike.

The first casino that used a closed circuit television full time was the Mirage and the CCTV was employed in table games in the year 1989.
